Local Woman Missing Review

Local Woman Missing Review

I recently finished reading Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica, and I have mixed feelings about this book. The plot of the book is intriguing, with the disappearance of three women from the same neighborhood, and the subsequent reappearance of one of them eleven years later. However, the execution of the story fell a bit short for me, earning a 3/5 star rating.

While Kubica does a good job of building tension and suspense, I found some of the twists and turns in the plot to be a bit unbelievable and contrived. Additionally, the subject matter of the book is quite heavy, dealing with topics such as kidnapping, abuse, and murder. While these themes are certainly important and can make for compelling reading, the way they were handled in the book left me feeling a bit uneasy.

Overall, Local Woman Missing is a decent thriller, but it falls short of being a standout in the genre. If you enjoy darker thrillers with heavy subject matter, then this book might be worth checking out. However, if you prefer more believable plots and lighter subject matter, you may want to give this one a pass
